10:00am-4:00pm | Location: Peak District
Come and join us for a day in the woods learning 3 of the main 4 survival skills. Forget your TV, tablets, games consoles and life support systems (WiFi), forget virtual reality, come out for actual reality!
Subjects covered;
Shelters: natural and unnatural
Water: finding, filtering and preparing to make it into a brew!
Fire: from a spark to a flame and further. Gathering your materials, preparing, lighting and hopefully finishing with some friction fire lighting as well
Food, this is the one you will need to bring. However, we will finish the day with a few little outdoor cooked bits n bobs
Other skills that may be included, depending on time, are camp craft, natural cordage and natural navigation.
A fun day out for the whole family from little ones to not so little ones. Get out into an amazing learning environment. Oh, and be prepared to get a little muddy as well!
This course is suitable for children of 7 years or above, however we maybe able to accommodate younger children, drop us a line.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Please note that currently we are unable to accept individuals under the age of 18, unless they are directly supervised by a parent or guardian for the duration of the course.
- Full payment is required to secure your place on your chosen course.
- Gift certificates must be paid in full for the certificate to be issued and are valid for 18 months from the date of issue.
CHANGING YOUR BOOKING
If after you’re booking has been confirmed you wish to transfer to a different course / date, we will make every effort to satisfy your requirements provided that written / email notification is received from the person who signed the booking form, no later than 15 days prior to the course date. Alterations made within 14 days will be regarded as a cancellation by you.
CANCELLATION BY REDOAKBUSHCRAFTS
RedOakBushcrafts reserves the right to cancel any course due to circumstances outside of our control, such as hazardous weather conditions, accident, transport theft / malfunction, incapacitating illness, strikes, civil unrest, riots etc. Where a course is cancelled by RedOakBushcrafts, we will refund all monies paid to us unless an alternative course date is available. In all cases liability, will only extend to the refund of monies received.
IF YOU CANCEL YOUR BOOKING
Should you, or any member of your party, be forced to cancel your booking you must do so in writing and this letter / email must be signed by the person who signed the booking form. Please note all cancellations should be confirmed in writing.
LIABILITY
RedOakBushcrafts is not under any liability whatsoever in respect of loss or damage to personal property, not caused by the negligence or default of RedOakBushcrafts or associates while attending the course.
INSURANCE
Please note that the course fee does not include insurance against cancellation, personal injury, loss or damage which is not caused by the negligence or default of RedOakBushcrafts or its associates.
SAFETY & PARTICIPATION STATEMENT
The safety of our clients is paramount. However, all clients should be aware that all Outdoor activities involve an element of risk and as such should be aware of our participation statement: “Outdoor activities by their nature involve an element of risk which cannot be totally eliminated. Every care is taken to ensure the safety and well- being of our clients. However, our more adventurous activities do involve the acceptance of risk and of responsibility for the consequences of one’s actions.” RedOakBushcrafts reserve the right to exclude any client from the planned activity if their actions are thought to endanger the safety of themselves or other clients. RedOakBushcrafts will not refund any fees paid to anyone so excluded. Any client who acts in the contravention of the decisions or advice of the instructor or undertakes independent activities during the course will forfeit all professional protection and duty of care from the instructor.
ASSURANCE
RedOakBushcrafts tutors hold national qualifications and/or have many years’ experience for all activities offered. In addition, RedOakBushcrafts may from time to time use associates with specific qualifications for other higher level activities. In all cases, you are assured of the highest levels of tuition.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS AND FITNESS
RedOakBushcrafts should be informed of any medical conditions or injuries at the time of booking. If you have been recently diagnosed with a condition or sustained any form of injury which may affect your participation or safety, then please contact us immediately. All information is held in the strictest of confidence. If you are signing the individual booking form as a parent or guardian for somebody under the age of 18, please ensure that all medical conditions are included. If you have any queries regarding your fitness for your chosen activity, then please feel free to contact us.
